Katrina Davila

Ms. Katrina Davila

Biography: My name is Katrina Davila and this is my first year as a 7th grade literacy teacher. Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked in organizational development where I worked with a team of healthcare educators. I was born and raised in Waco, TX and returned after graduating with my BA in Public Relations and English from the University of Texas at Arlington. My husband and I have a 6 year old little boy that is austistic and has ADHD. It was in the midst of trying to figure out what he needed to succeed in school that I found myself wanting to know more about the education system and how I could help children like mine. It is my hope that I can offer some of the things I have learned along the way with my own child in an all inclusive way and that I can be a resource for parents. In my spare time I like to cook, garden, spend time with family and friends and play with my kiddo!

My Why: I believe that if children can read and write, they can learn anything! In literacy, there is freedom and power! As a parent of a child with special needs, it is my hope that I can be an advocate for those children that learn differently.
